"Every day is a good day at Grace Weekday School! I am honored to come along side of children and their families during this important developmental part of their lives! To me, being the director of GWDS is not a job, it is a ministry and a chance to point families towards the Love of Jesus." -Joyce Gresh

Grace Weekday School Administration & Teachers

Joyce Gresh has been with GWDS since 2008 as the Director.   Before she came to the preschool, she taught Language Arts for 24 years in public and private schools in the Charleston area.  She has an undergraduate degree from Liberty University and a Masters in School Administration from University of Phoenix. She loves Jesus, her family, her career, and has the passion in supporting young children and their families in their walk with the Lord as they are introduced to formal schooling in a preschool environment.   Knowing that learning happens best in the context of a relationship, Joyce is excited to be part of this team of women that love Jesus and love children!

She is an active member of Grace UMC where she and her husband, Don, of 40 years enjoy worshiping.  She has five children and five grandchildren.

Gale Mitchum has been with GWDS for six years.   She taught in Berkeley County schools for 33 years before coming to Grace as one of our PreK4 teachers.  After retirement, she missed her love of working with children and decided to return to teaching.  Last year Gale became the Administrative Assistant which has been a tremendous blessing with her love for the Lord and for children.  Gale is married with two children and a precious granddaughter, Caroline whom she adores. She and her husband are members of DorWay Baptist Church where they enjoy worshiping.

Louise Ash is starting her 21st year at GWDS.  She not only has a wealth of experience, but she has a true passion for teaching!   She loves God’s creatures and brings that love to the class. This year, Mrs. Ash’s great granddaughter will attend our MMO program. Mrs. Ash is a member of Grace UMC.  Her hobbies include dancing, dancing and dancing and loving on her great-granddaughter, Lainee!

Tobin Guerry begins her third year with GWDS.  She has taught PreK3s and 4s before coming to Grace and is very excited to be with our three year olds again this school year. Tobin and her husband, John, have three children, Corbin 8, Owen 5 and Jamison 3. Her family worships at New Spring.

Tasha Hawkins is starting her fourth year with us at Grace. She has been teaching children for eighteen years.  The curiosity of everything in a three year olds mind brings joy and laughter to her heart. Tasha loves spending time with her family and going to the beach. She and her husband have four children, Bryson 14, Ava Claire 10, and 7-year-old twins, Lily and Parker. They are active members and enjoy worshiping together at Charleston Baptist Church.

Dee Isgette has been with GWDS for eight years.  She is the assistant to the MMO teachers and loves to love on all of the children.  She knows them all by name and is a blessing to have with us. Dee and her family are active members at Grace UMC.

She has eight years experience working in Montessori schools and 20 years in church nurseries. She has two sons, the oldest lives in Charleston, and the youngest has been living and working in London for the past 6 years. In her spare time, Peggy loves to write, read, and travel. They have two beautiful children, Mackenna and Evan, and they both attended preschool at Grace. She enjoys spending time with her family riding bikes, going to the pool or beach and cheering on Clemson!!! Her family attends Seacoast West where they are active members of the church.
